Top country – Laos
An untrodden kingdom situated in gorgeous South East Asia – Laos. ‘Probably the lesser travelled of South East Asia, Laos has seen a bit of a decline in tourism within the younger market, meaning it has returned to its routes and is just a fascinating country with incredible authentic hospitality.’ Laos is a beautifully calm country with unforgettable landscapes and unique experiences – Ross’ choice of top country is no surprise due to its fantastic architecture, gold-flaked temples and charming locals.
A country I would love to visit – South America
‘I can't pick a country so narrowed it down to a continent! South America is currently very high on the list. Whether it’s the steak and wine of Argentina or the Carnival in Rio, Brazil I am looking forward to exploring this region.’ The most colourful continent, South America, is extremely inviting. Whether you’re intrigued by the Uros tribe reed Islands of Lake Titicaca, the unbelievable flora and fauna of the Amazon River or the truly otherworldly panoramic views from Macchu Picchu, the opportunities are endless.
Top recommendation for Solo Travel – USA
As the expert he is, Ross has navigated the travel industry through thick and thin. It currently feels as though we are stuck in the airport terminal being told our flights are continuingly being delayed! With that said, 2021 is seeing the ‘the development of technology for translation apps, as well as increasing safety levels’. Solo travel is growing more and more popular, so ‘if you are a person that loves to explore on your own, the world really is your oyster. But if I had to pick one.... then probably the USA. With each state feeling like a different country you can choose between hiking Yellowstone National Park through to sipping coffee in Central Park... usually met with a welcoming hospitality!’ With 50 states offering spectacular variety, this stunning nation has never been so alluring.
Recommendation for Group Holidays – Australia
The land down under, a place of limitless opportunities and it’s unimaginable natural wonders – Australia. Home to a plethora of concrete jungles, breath-taking reefs and truly individual wildlife, it is no surprise Ross has listed ‘Straya’ as his group recommendation! ‘The golden beaches and red outback of the land down under. Australia is a great location for any person and any group that’s looking to explore and discover themselves and new lands. Friendly by nature, you are sure to be welcomed all over as well as see unreal landscapes and wildlife!’ Find yourself amongst welcoming Aussies, strolling almost 60,000km of coast or living it up in Sydney – you and your mates will be spoilt for choice.
Recommendation for Family Getaways – Canada
‘I don't think Canada will let down any family. Whether you are into nature and exploring the lands, skiing down the side of a mountain, pushing adrenaline at theme parks or metropolitan cities, I don't think you can beat Canada for all ages. Just pick the right state and time of year depending on what you are looking for!’ The Great White North is a country of genuinely magnificent opportunities. With almost 10 million km² to discover, the most challenging choice will be choosing where to go! Recommendation for Couples – Japan
Home to over a dozen UNESCO World Heritage sites, Japan is a truly gorgeous island best known for its contribution to elite cuisine and incredible flora. The stunning country is so rich in culture and chance that you and your loved one will fall in love time and time again. Ross claims this graceful choice due to ‘beauty, charm and romance that comes from the blend of tradition and high tech developments. One day you can be lost in the back streets of Tokyo discovering the latest tech, to relaxing in the natural thermal pools of Kyoto. All wrapped in the inquisitive and welcoming hospitality of the Japanese people.’
